Fortner went 1-0 in the tournament with a dominant victory over Wisconsin which was her third victory for the season and third victory over a Big 10 team. The win against the Badgers was also her first complete game of the season.

New Mexico’s 4-1 record tied with Wisconsin’s 4-1 record on the weekend but with the win over Wisconsin on the final day, the Lobos claimed the tournament. The C of C Invitational is the second tournament this season that the Lobos had a 4-1 record. The Lobos came out on top of the Hilton Houston Invitational with a 4-1 record.

UNM is now 16-12 on the season after the weekend. The win over Wisconsin helped the Lobos match last season’s win record of 16 games. The Lobos open up Mountain West play this weekend on the road, heading to Utah State for a three-game series. First game is on Friday, March 20 at 3 p.m. MT.
