ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Due to inclement weather in Colorado, the University of New Mexico baseball team will host the Air Force Falcons this weekend. The teams will play at Lobo Field Friday at 6 p.m. and then at noon on both Saturday and Sunday. Air Force will be the designated home team for all three games, and each game will be streamed live on GoLobos.com. The games on Saturday and Sunday will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 101.7 The TEAM with Scott Galetti and Henry Tafoya on the call.
The teams were originally slated to play in Colorado Springs, the site of the Air Force Academy, but that area is expecting three to five inches of snow both Saturday and Sunday with highs forecasted to be in the 20s.
“With the weather situation looking like it is, this makes the most sense for all involved,” UNM head coach Ray Birmingham said.
This series will not replace Air Force’s scheduled trip to Albuquerque April 10-12. The Falcons will still come to Lobo Field as the visitors that weekend.
For Saturday’s game only fans are asked to park in the dirt lot south of the baseball field and enter through the south entrance near the clubhouse. For the games on Friday and Sunday fans can park in the Pit West lot and enter through the north entrance like usual.
