FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 58 University of New Mexico men’s tennis team is preparing for yet another challenging match as they are set to square off against the No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs on Friday evening at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

The Lobos, who have already faced three ITA ranked opponents this season, will have to come prepared as they look to hand the TCU Horned Frogs their first loss of the season. TCU is currently on a hot streak as they have recently picked up big wins over No. 45 LSU and No. 10 Texas A&M earning themselves a spot at the 2015 ITA National Team Indoor Championships taking place Feb. 13-16.

Interim head coach Bart Scott’s Lobos have faired well against ranked opponents so far, tallying an upset win over No. 41 Texas Tech and putting up strong performances against No. 2 Oklahoma and No. 58 Arkansas. However this upset victory will be no easy feat as the Horned Frogs have a fully loaded line up behind them.

TCU currently has three nationally ranked singles players: Cameron Norrie (24), Guillermo Nunez (87), and Will Stein (91) and three ITA ranked doubles pairs: Norrie/Trevor Johnson (15), Nick Chappell/Will Stein (20), and Johnson/Wiggins (47).

The Lobos, 4-4 on the season, are still competing without their primary No. 1 competitor Samir Iftikhar (ranked No. 41 nationally) as he is still out with a wrist injury.

The match begins at 5:30 p.m. CT.
