ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Lobo volleyball program will be hosting many summer camps that will take place during the months of June and July. The camps are being offered to a variety of age groups.
The 2015 summer will be kicked off with the Little Lobo Camp on June 15-19. The camp is offered to all children that are entering kindergarten through fifth grade. Also June 15-19, the Lobos will be offering an individual skills camp that is available to all children entering fifth through ninth grade. Players will receive small group instruction, as well as, opportunities to utilize their skills in competitive settings.
Following the June Camps, UNM will be hosting a camp specified for liberos and setters. The camp will be held July 9-11. Setters will be trained in every aspect of setting, from technique to strategy. Liberos will be taken through several series of ball control drills and proper technique in serve-receive and defense.
The next July camp will be an advanced skills camp that is offered to girls entering the seventh through 12th grade. The camp will take place July 12-15. Players of all levels can learn and improve their skills in small groups and gain confidence in competitive play.
The Lobos will be putting together the Cherry & Silver team tournament to finish off the 2015 summer camp schedule. The tournament will be held July 17-19. This camp is designed for high school teams looking to compete prior to their preseason training.
