ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico men’s soccer team had four players named All-Region by the NSCAA the organization announced Wednesday. Sophomore midfielder Chris Wehan was named to the All-Southeast Region first team, while seniors Mathew Gibbons and James Rogers were joined by junior Ben McKendry on the second team.

UNM, which used to be in the Far West Region, is now in the Southeast Region due to its affiliation with Conference USA.

Wehan led the Lobos with 10 goals and 22 points this season on his way to All-Conference USA First Team honors. He was also one of four Lobos previously named Academic All-District by CoSIDA.

Rogers finished tied for second on the team with 13 points after leading the squad with five assists. His four goals were third most on the Lobos.

McKendry and Gibbons were both honored for the second time as they were named Third Team All-Far West in 2013. Last month McKendry was named a Second Team All-American by College Sports Madness, while Gibbons finished his career in the top 10 in program history in appearances, starts and minutes.
