ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Axiom.  Definition: a statement or proposition that is regarded as being established, accepted, or self-evidently true.  Many axioms dot the landscape of college athletics and college football.

One is take your time in hiring the right people, because the time you take to make sure you get it right will save all the time you have to waste to fix the problem.  Another in in the college football world, getting the Video of the Day on FootballScoop.com isn’t easy, and it’s great for the program when you do.  Both axioms met on Monday when UNM’s highlight video of the 31-28 win over UNLV featured as the site’s “Video of the Day”.

The video was produced by UNM”s LoboTV department, which is basically under new management.  Kasey Byers, fresh of a run with three-time FCS National Champions North Dakota State, started with the Lobos in the summer, and has worked at updating UNM’s equipment, and bringing a fresher perspective on things.  Byers has even expanded LoboTV to LoboFilms for more long-form pieces such as the “Life in the Pack” videos which showcase a day in the life of a Lobo football player.

Byers, as executive producer, in turn hired Nathaniel Wilson out of Montana State, and it’s been Wilson taking care of many of UNM’s road game videos, including the highlighted UNM-UNLV clip.  Wilson said that the video, counting shooting, editing, recoding and all the other steps, took around 7-8 hours to complete.

“What Kasey and I want to do is showcase our programs and tell a story with our videos,” said Wilson.  “Having this video featured on FootballScoop.com puts out in front of a large target audience for us, so that was fun to see on Monday.”

While both Byers and Wilson have been shooting many different things bascially everyday from Coaches Shows to highlights to live streams, it’s the football videos that have been catching notice.  The Byers produced video of the unvieling of the new weight room became just the fifth LoboTV video to amass over 10,000 views on YouTube, and it is the fifth-most watched LoboTV video of all-time, and number one amongst football videos.

That video was also featured on SI.com, and on the pregame shows for CBS Sports Network.  To watch any LoboTV video, but bookmark and subscribe to https://www.youtube.com/user/LoboTVnewmexicolobos
