University of New Mexico women’s soccer junior forward Dylann O’Connor on Monday earned Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week honors for her performance against San Diego State on Halloween night.

The West Hills, Calif., native scored the game-winning goal off a header feed from teammate Ruth Bruciaga at the 59:56 mark during the Lobos’ 2-1 win over the MW regular-season champion Aztecs. O’Connor played the entire 90 minutes for just the second time this season and had four shots on goal to help keep the pressure on the SDSU defense.

O’Connor, who leads New Mexico with 10 points (three goals and four assists), helped her team end a four-game winless streak against the Aztecs. O’Connor also led the Lobos (along with teammate Lindsey Guice) with 11 points last season.

UNM’s victory at San Diego State marked the first season in school history the team went undefeated in road games (not including games on neutral sites). The Lobos finished with a 4-0-1 record on the road.

The Lobos (9-5-2, 7-2-2 MW) will be the No. 3 seed at the Mountain West Tournament in San Diego and will face No. 6 seed Boise State (9-8-3, 6-5) in a first-round matchup on Tuesday at 5 p.m. The game will be streamed live on GoLobos.com through the Mountain West Network.
