ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – With “Heroes’ Day” coming up Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Lobo football game against Boise State, the University of New Mexico athletic department has partnered with Kirtland Air Force Base to present the inaugural “Seats for Soldiers”.
In an effort to thank and support our local troops, we are launching “Seats for Soldiers” in partnership with the “Hearts Apart” program at Kirtland Air Force Base. The “Hearts Apart” program is a support and information network for families of military members or Department of Defense civilians who are deployed for more than 30 days or are on a short or isolated tour. The program’s mission is to ensure the deployed members have peace of mind know that their families have information, support and services needed during the separation.
