BURLINGTON, Vt. — University of New Mexico senior Sean Horner was featured, along with several other nationally prominent collegiate skiers, in the latest article at www.skiracing.com.
The article, entitled What Off Season? by CJ Feehan, chronicles how the top racers in the nation transition from summer training to fall conditioning.
Along with Horner, the 2014 RMISA Alpine MVP, Feehan talked with Kristine Haugen of Denver; Kristina Riis-Johannessen, Vermont and Taylor Shiffrin of Denver.
For Horner, who goes back home to Boulder in the summer, being away from his teammates does allow him to focus on the task as hand. “It’s always awesome to have the team around since they are like family, but being a ‘lone wolf’ for the summer lets me focus on what I need to put into the work without any distractions,” he says in the article.
The Lobos officially begin the collegiate season January 6-12 with an RMISA Alpine qualifier and the University of Utah Invitational.
