ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Consider University of New Mexico sophomore midfielder Ruth Bruciaga 2-for-3 after her performance Friday night against in-state rival New Mexico State.
One day after Bruciaga earned Mountain West Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors, College Sports Madness has named her MW Women Soccer Player of the Week “for her exceptional performance during the past week’s action.”
Bruciaga scored a hat trick – three goals – during the Lobos’ 4-1 victory over the Aggies at the UNM Soccer Complex on Friday. The goals were her first of the season.
UNM, 2-3 on the season, opens Mountain West play this weekend with games at Fresno State on Friday night at 8 p.m., and on Sunday at San Jose State at 1 p.m. (both times Mountain).
