The University of New Mexico women’s golf team finished in 13th place at The Farms Invitational in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
The Lobos ended the 54-hole tournament at 98-over 962 (317-319-326) at the challenging Farms Golf Club.
No. 1 ranked Southern California led the 15-team field wire-to-wire, finishing at 11-over 875. Arizona was a distant second, 21 shots back at 896.
UNM junior Sammi Stevens was the Lobos’ top finisher for the sixth consecutive tournament. She tied for 23rd at 14-over 230 (78-74-78).
Starting her round on No. 10, Stevens was 6 over after eight holes, but played par golf the rest of the way.
Junior Manon De Roey had a rocky end to her final round, shooting an 84 and finishing tied for 52nd at 242 (78-80-84). De Roey was 4 over through 12 holes, but lost eight strokes over the final six holes.
Senior Beth Buchner tied for 54th at 243 (82-82-79). Three over on her round through 14 holes, a triple bogey 7 at the par-4 6th spoiled a solid performance.
Junior Sofia Hoglund tied for 62nd at 247 (79-83-85) while freshman Xenia Knopf finished 79th at 263 (84-86-93).
Southern Cal’s Sophia Popov won the individual title at 1 over 217 (74-69-74), one shot ahead of Arizona’s Manon Gidali.
UNM returns to the course April 15-16 for the Fresno State Lexus Classic.
