  • New Mexico defeats North Texas by a score of 81-59 in the opening round of the Lobos’ Thanksgiving Tournament in The Pit in Albuquerque, N.M. … New Mexico will play No. 9 Georgia tomorrow at 7 p.m. MT … Georgia defeated St. Bonaventure 84-48 earlier in the day.
  • The Lobos opened the game on an 11-0 run. New Mexico held North Texas scoreless until the 16:28 mark of the first half. UNT responded with an 11-2 run to come within two points at the second media timeout (11:23).
  • North Texas took a 19-17 lead at the 10:10 mark with a Sara Stanley layup. It was UNT’s only lead of the contest.
  • New Mexico posted a 9-2 run to take a 39-32 lead before UNT’s Laura McCoy hit a half-court three-point basket at the buzzer to close the gap to 39-35 at the half.
  • After a three point basket by North Texas to open the second half at 39-35, New Mexico recorded a 17-4 run to take a 56-42 lead at the under-12 timeout.
