Lobo Faithful:
It was a tremendous team performance from the University of New Mexico Lobo Soccer Team Sunday night. 3-1 home victory over perennial ACC power, University of Virginia, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Our boys were focused, confident and hungry to get the NCAA post-season rolling! From the opening minute, we came out “guns a-blazing”! Can’t say enough about our team unity, leadership and toughness!

The reward for hard work and success is; more hard work! With Sunday’s victory, the Lobo’s advance to the NCAA “Sweet 16”. Off to Storrs, Connecticut and a challenging match versus fourth-seeded University of Connecticut Huskies. We depart Friday afternoon for Sunday’s 1:00 pm kick-off (11:00 am in the Mountain Time zone). On behalf of our program, I can’t thank you enough for your incredible support. The team plays for and with our Lobo Faithful. Your energy is passed on to us, and we feel an obligation to represent all of you in the highest fashion. I am proud to coach such a wonderful team of committed and high achieving young men. The NSCAA just announced us as recipients of the “NSCAA Team Academic Award”, with a team grade point average of 3.30. Our players are committed to EXCELLENCE: Academic, Social and Athletic.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I will keep you posted.
GO LOBOS!
