Albuquerque, N.M. — University of New Mexico Athletics and its multimedia rights holder, Lobo Sports Properties, announced today the addition of 10 men’s basketball games to the television broadcast line up. Coverage will air locally on My50-TV and regionally via ROOT SPORTS.
The addition of the 10 matches (seven jointly on My50-TV and ROOT SPORTS, two on ROOT SPORTS, and one on My50) means that 28 of UNM’s 31 regular season games will be broadcast on television, with 16 national broadcasts (10 CBS Sports Network, four NBC Sports Network, one ESPN, and one ESPN2), and 10 regional broadcasts through the intermountain west.
Fans in the greater Albuquerque-Santa Fe coverage area can watch My50-TV for live basketball broadcasts through Lobo Sports Properties’ agreement with KASY-TV/KWBQ which calls for My50-TV to carry eight men’s home games and 15 coaches’ shows. The agreement called for a couple of home games to have times changed, as the opening My50/ROOT broadcast will be on Nov. 25 against Portland, with that game time moving an hour earlier to 6 p.m. UNM’s final home game with Wyoming has been moved from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Along with the seven joint broadcasts on My50-TV and ROOT SPORTS, two road games will also be broadcast on ROOT SPORTS. Those two games are:
Jan. 16, 2013 New Mexico at Boise State 7 p.m.
Jan. 30, 2013 New Mexico at Wyoming 7 p.m.
ROOT SPORTS also announced five other games featuring Mountain West teams, giving the Network 14 MW games featuring either New Mexico, Colorado State, Boise State, Wyoming, or Air Force. All games will be available throughout the ROOT SPORTS Rocky Mountain territory, and many will be distributed throughout the ROOT SPORTS Northwest territory as well.

Along with the UNM basketball games, My50-TV will broadcast the 30-minute coaches’ shows with either Head Men’s Basketball Coach Steve Alford or Head Women’s Basketball Coach Yvonne Sanchez at 9 p.m. according to the following schedule:
Nov. 11 (11 p.m.), Nov. 25, Dec. 2, Dec. 9, Dec. 16, Jan. 6, Jan. 13, Jan. 20, Jan. 27, Feb. 3, Feb. 10, Feb. 17, Feb. 24, March 3, and March 10
“For the fifth year in a row, My50-TV will broadcast Lobo basketball games into homes of Lobo fans across the state,” said Stan Gill, president and general manager of My50-TV (KASY), the MyNetworkTV-affiliated station owned by ACME Television, LLC. “We are pleased with our ongoing partnership with UNM Athletics.”
Paul Krebs, UNM’s Vice President for Athletics, knows how important Lobo basketball is to the state of New Mexico.

Lobo Sports Properties is a property of Learfield Sports, which secured the separate agreements with KASY/KWBQ (My50-TV) and ROOT SPORTS on behalf of the University of New Mexico for the 2012-2013 basketball season.
