In order to properly thank the most generous supporters of University of New Mexico Athletics, the Lobo Club has announced the official launch of the Lobo Champions Council. The Council was established to honor those individuals that have helped provide the resources needed for UNM student-athletes to consistently compete for Conference and National Championships. Through exclusive gatherings in Albuquerque, Las Vegas (Nevada), and future locations, the Lobo Champions Council will connect the Lobo Club’s most financially committed supporters with key UNM athletic department leadership and coaches.
The Lobo Champions Council is an invitation-only society that promotes the advancement of UNM Athletics through major gifts. Membership in the Lobo Champions Council is only offered to financial supporters of UNM Athletics who have helped fund capital projects and other athletics priorities with charitable gifts of $50,000 or more or planned gifts of at least $500,000. Membership in the Council may be renewed after the 5 year term expires.
Charter members of the Lobo Champions Council have invested more the $16 million to advance Lobo student-athlete success and can be seen at UNMLoboClub.com. Such investments in UNM student-athletes include: facility enhancements at University Arena (The Pit), Branch Field at University Stadium, Lobo Field (Baseball), the Indoor Practice Facility, new Tennis Complex, Football Excellence Fund, and other athletics funding initiatives.
Members must be willing to commit to the threefold mission of the Lobo Champions Council:
•Commit as an investor by personally making a major gift to fund Lobo Athletics initiatives;
•Commit as a representative that disseminates accurate information to promote UNM in a positive manner throughout the community; and
•Commit as a friend to UNM Athletics by nominating financially capable individuals willing to join the Council.
