ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – New Mexico used a balanced scoring attack and a dominating rebounding performance Wednesday night to defeat Idaho State 65-41.

A.J. Hardeman and Demetrius Walker scored nine points each for the Lobos (5-2); Drew Gordon equaled a season-high with 13 rebounds and added eight points; Jamal Fenton also had eight points; and Hugh Greenwood and Kendall Williams had seven each.

Melvin Morgan scored 23 for Idaho State (1-5), but no other Bengal had more than five points.

The Lobos outrebounded the Bengals 51-28, including a 22-9 on the offensive glass which led to a 26-8 advantage in second-chance points. That inside dominance also helped New Mexico outscore Idaho State 30-12 on points in the paint.

Although the Lobos went just 12 for 24 from the free-throw line, the Bengals were just 2 for 4.
