UNM vs. Boston College – 76 Classic – Anaheim, Calif.
- New Mexico improves to 4-2 with a 75-57 triumph over Boston College to claim 5th place in the 76 Classic in Anaheim, Calif.
- The Lobos snapped a 5-game losing streak to current members of the Atlantic Coast Conference…UNM had lost twice to Virginia and three times to Wake Forest since its last win over a current ACC team, 110-93 at Miami (Fla.) on Feb. 1, 1989
- New Mexico never trailed for the third time in six games this season: also New Orleans and Washington State
- The Lobos have won 51 straight games (45-0 under Steve Alford) when holding opponents under 60 points…the last loss was Feb. 22, 2006, when UNM fell to Air Force 51-46
- New Mexico opened a 22-point lead (56-34) against B.C., with 13:55 left on a jumper by freshman Hugh Greenwood…B.C. cut that deficit to 62-54 (20-6 run) with 4:38 to go, but the Lobos ended the game on a 13-3 spree
