Tulsa, Okla. – The Lobos are looking towards Thursday with the main draw of doubles featuring Jadon Phillips and Phillip Anderson who are nationally ranked 18.
Conor Berg and Ben Dunbar played a grueling match against Oklahoma State’s Maniel Bains and Eric West, who are seeded number 15 in the tournament and nationally ranked 84. The Lobos faced four match points at 7-5 with Bains/West in the lead, but they persevered and were able to have three match points of their own in the tiebreak. The Lobos run fell short losing the match 9-8.
“It was a good battle and in the end we fell just short,” Assistant Coach Bart Scott said. “It wasn’t pretty but we fought hard to create chances to win in a difficult situation, so for that I’m proud.”
Jadon Phillips and Phillip Anderson will begin play on Thursday, October 4th in the Main Draw of doubles.
