Albuquerque, N.M. – UNM Women’s tennis team will be traveling to Boise, Idaho to compete in the Boise State Invitational. The teams who have been invited include UNM, Weber State, Utah State, Idaho State, and Boise State. At the end of last spring, Boise State ranked number 75 in the nation.

This tournament will be the second tournament of the fall season for the Lobos. The players that will be traveling will be Susanna Kuuttila, Nikolina Grbac, Maria Sablina, Michaela Bezdickova, Alyssa Caffey, Michaela Oldani, Kristin Eggleston and Laura Richardson.

The first tournament of the fall was the Midland Invitational, where Susanna Kuuttila beat a senior from Texas A&M, making it her first college win. Michaela Oldani also made a win against Texas A&M. Nikolina Grbac defeated the number two player from Texas Tech. Maria Sablina earned her first college win against a player from Pepperdine.

Michaela Bezdickova was unable to compete in the Midland Invitational because she was preoccupied with competing at the $75,000 ITF ColemanVision Tournament.

Needless to say, the Lobos have been practicing and are ready to compete in the Boise State Invitational.

Play begins at 8:30 a.m. on Friday September 30, 2011.
