Albuquerque, N.M. — Euan Holden, a former New Mexico Lobo, is leaving his mark overseas with Stockport County, scoring the game-winner for his team in their match against Kettering Town. The goal came in the Conference National, the fifth highest level of competition in England.

Though born in Scotland, Euan (and his older brother Stuart, now at Bolton Wanderers) moved to the United States in his youth. He played two seasons for UCONN, scoring a pair of goals in 36 games during his first two collegiate seasons. His lone goal as a sophomore came at Notre Dame in a 3-3 tie, and his freshman season goal came against Georgetown.

After transferring to New Mexico in 2008, he played in nine games and started five during his junior season. He scored the Lobos’ first goal of the season at Loyola Marymount and made his first start in a Lobo uniform against Michigan State.

During his senior season, he played in 22 games for the Lobos, tallying two assists on the year.

In 2010 he turned down an offer from MLS side Houston Dynamo to move to Denmark with Velje BK. The following summer he had trials with a number of English clubs, but stayed in Denmark and joined FC Hjorring. He impressed Dietmar Hamann in the summer of 2011, signing for his Hatters side in July.
