ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico softball team will host its final three home games of the season this week against Utah and BYU. The Lobos face Utah Thursday at 6 p.m. at Lobo Field, before hosting a two-game set with the Cougars. UNM and BYU will play Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1:04 p.m. The games will be available on GameTracker at GoLobos.com. Saturday’s contest with BYU will be the final game as Mountain West foes and will be broadcast live on the MountainWest Sports Network. The Mtn. can be found locally on Comcast 276, DirecTV 616 and Cable One 329.

New Mexico is 18-21 on the year and is coming off a 13-7 victory over Colorado State last weekend. The Lobos look to improve on its 8-6 home record. UNM has won its most games since the 2008 season, when Ty Singleton led the Lobos to a 25-26 finish. The Lobos finished 16-9 at home that season.

SATURDAY’S GAME ON THE MTN.
The New Mexico softball game with BYU Saturday will be broadcast live on the MountainWest Sports Network. The Lobos and Cougars are set for a 1 p.m. first pitch at Lobo Field. Tracy Warren will provide the Play-by-Play and Teri Goldberg will serve as the Color Commentary. The game can be seen in the Albuquerque area on Comcast channel 276, DirecTV channel 616 and Cable One channel 329.

LOBOS AT HOME
New Mexico is 8-6 at home this season and has its most victories at Lobo Field since 2008. The Lobos have won two of their last three home games heading into this final weekend.

LOBO IN FIFTH PLACE IN LEAGUE PLAY
UNM enters the week ranked fifth in the league standings. The Lobos are 4-5 in conference play and will face No. 1 BYU (31-15, 7-1 MW) and No. 2 Utah (27-19, 5-2 MW) this week.

LOBOS VS. WEEKEND OPPONENTS
New Mexico is 0-3 this year against BYU and Utah. The Lobos lost at BYU, 11-3, earlier this year on BYU-TV and dropped a pair of games at Utah. The Utes defeated UNM, 8-0, and 12-9 back in April.

NO SENIOR DAY FOR LOBOS
New Mexico will not hold Senior Day festivities Saturday because the Lobos do not have any seniors on the roster. The 2011 Lobos are a junior led squad with only six upperclassmen. Four of the top hitters at UNM are juniors in Jessica Garcia, Danielle Castro, Kerry Hodgins and Kaity Ingram.

SOFTBALL RPI
New Mexico enters this week with an RPI ranking of 103. The Lobos rank fourth in the Mountain West. San Diego State leads the way with an RPI ranking of 36, followed by BYU at 39, Utah is 80 and New Mexico. UNLV ranks fifth at 112 and Colorado State rounds out the conference at 218.
