FORT WORTH, Texas —The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team wrapped up their weekend in Fort Worth, Texas against TCU, falling 7-0. The Lobos had played very strenuous matches the previous two days against, Utah and BYU. They look to come back home to take on San Diego State and UNLV next weekend.

Freshman Michaela Bezdickova took her singles match into a tiebreaker against Katariina Tuohimaa. Winning the first set she dropped the other two in a 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-0) decision.

Converting the points is what head coach Roy Cañada sees as a key factor of the outcome of today.

” We were running low on the energy tank and they played very well,” Cañada said. “The scores do not reflect the amount of game points we had so they are deceiving. Hardly converting in any of them is something that cannot continue if we are to pull out of these payback opportunities. From here on out we are playing in high altitude where we definitely perform better. This week we will get ready by focusing on those key points and figuring out how to set those opportunities to use our strength.”
