2011 Denver Invitational Results in PDF Format ![]()
ASPEN, Colo. — The New Mexico ski team finished fourth Sunday at the 2011 Denver Invitational. The Lobos had 806 points and closed out the regular-season. Sunday was strictly Freestyle Nordic and the UNM men had four Top-15 finishers. UNM’s best events during the invitational were the Slalom and Classical Nordic.
Colorado won the seven-team event with 879 points. Utah was second with 869 points. Denver came in third, just two-points above New Mexico.
Petter Brenna finished second in the men’s Slalom with a time of 1:19.22. Armin Triendl was eighth with a time of 1:20.79. Chriss Salbu came in 11th with a mark of 1:21.11.
Stefanie Demetz was fifth in the women’s Slalom race with a time of 1:34.80. Anne Cecilie Brusletto had a time of 1:34.92 and placed sixth. Kate Williams had an 11th place finish.
Terese Andersson was second in the women’s Classical Nordic with a time of 15:38.4, while Sofie Jonsson came in fourth (15:56.8).
In the men’s Classical event, Tor-Hakon Hellebostad was third (27:52.1). Martin Kaas finished eighth (28:25.6) and Pierre Niess in 10th place (28:43.8).
Kaas placed 10th (1:00:20.0) in the Freestyle Nordic race today. Other Lobos in the Top-15 were; Niess was 11th (1:01:05.9), Christian Otto finished 13th (1:01:29.6) and Hellebostad ranked 15th (1:01:35.0).
Chris Loevald Hellberg (1:12:49.3) had the top ranking in the women’s Freestyle Nordic and placed 15th. Jonsson came in 19th ( 1:14:01.5) during the Freestyle event.
UNM will race next in the RMISA/NCAA West Regional on Feb. 25-26 in Park City, Utah.
