While in Manhattan, Kan., UNM picked up its first victory of the year over Drake. In a gritty six-hour match the Lobos beat the Bulldogs in a 4-3 decision. Head coach Roy Canada on the upcoming meet:
“We are excited about opening up our home schedule with UTEP,” said Canada. “They beat us last year in a very close 4-3 match. Both teams are much stronger this year, so we are ready for a battle! We just came back from a very gritty and meaningful win for us against Drake and we are hoping to build from it for this weekend.”
