- New Mexico falls at Utah, 82-72…the Lobos drop to 13-6 overall and are 1-3 in the Mountain West Conference for the first time since 2006-07
- Utah led 45-31 at halftime, the most points UNM has allowed in the 1st half since Jan. 5, 2008, when Wyoming had a 48-32 lead in Laramie
- The Lobos have dropped consecutive games for the first time since Jan. 5 and 9, 2010 (at San Diego State and at home to UNLV)
- UNM had been 10-0 this season when junior G Phillip McDonald scored in double figures…McDonald finished with 11 points tonight
- UNM used its 6th different starting lineup of the season and third in as many games…the Lobos used the same starting five in all 35 games a year ago
- Utah was 10 of 19 (52.6%) from 3-point, which is the best accuracy against UNM this season…San Diego State made 52.0% (13-25) last Saturday…the past 6 games, opponents are shooting 41.6% (57-137) from beyond the arc, an average of 9.5 3s a game
- For the first 34 minutes, the only three-pointer hit by the Lobos was a half-court shot by Kendall Williams at the end of the 1st half, keeping alive UNM’s streak of consecutive games with a three-pointer, which is now at 642.
