• New Mexico completes the non-conference season with a
12-3 record following a 102-62 victory over Cal State
Bakersfield

• Alex Kirk set a UNM freshman scoring record with 31
points in just 21 minutes…the previous record was 30
points by Kenny Thomas against Utah in the 1996 Western
Athletic Conference Tournament championship game (March 9,
1996)

• Kirk also tied a Mountain West Conference scoring record
by a freshman…Evan Burns scored 31 against New Mexico on
Feb. 24, 2003, while Wyoming’s Desmar Jackson had 31
against Utah on Feb. 27, 2010

• UNM has had two different players score at least 20
points this season, both by freshmen: 20 by Kendall
Williams against Longwood and 31 tonight by Alex Kirk

• The Lobos reach the 100-point mark for the first time
since a 103-70 decision over Ole Miss on Dec. 13,
2008…it’s the fourth 100-point game for UNM under Steve
Alford

• UNM is 77-1 all-time when scoring 100 or more points in
a game

• The score was tied at 20-all at the 9:56 mark before UNM
went on a 16-0 run over the next 4:08…five different Lobos
scored during the burst…the Roadrunners were scoreless for
4:48

• The Lobos started the game making just 5 of 15 shots
from the floor…they finished the final 11:46 of the 1st
half hitting 14 of their final 21 FGs (67%)…UNM shot
56.7% (38-67) for the game

• The Lobos have had at least a 20-point lead in all eight

Senior G Dairese Gary
• Made his 112th consecutive start tonight, the longest
current streak in the nation
• Passed David Gibson (1995-98) for 5th place all-time at
UNM with 461 career assists
• Scored 15 points, plus 5 assists and 0 turnovers in 22
minutes
• Made a season-high 3 3-pointers
• Remains in 3rd place in Mountain West Conference history
with 461 career assists; 19 assists from becoming the
MWC’s career leader
• UNM is 31-3 since 2008-09 when he has 5 or more assists
