Opening Statement:
This was one of the poorest games I’ve ever been involved in. We didn’t get back ondefense, we didn’t box out, we didn’t deny the outlet, and we allowed them to run faster withthe ball than we were running without the ball. We need to go back to square one.You’re always concerned when you have a lot of freshmen playing that they’ll play likefreshmen and that’s what they did. A lot of the older players didn’t help either, they didn’t stepup. I do have to mention Jourdan Erskine though, she was playing in pain and I thought shehad a good game.
Jasmine Patterson had a good game, she’s a freshman, but she put pressure on themand I feel that she was one of the only players out there that was giving them trouble on theoffense.
Our offense was slow. Sometimes when you play a lot of games in a row you can makean excuse that they have tired legs, but I don’t want to make an excuse. We need to get inbetter shape, we need to run the floor better, and this was just a poor game to play at home.I’m disappointed.
I thought we were a pretty good defensive team until today. We have to go back and goto work. We have a more successful and higher ranked opponent on Sunday (in Oklahoma) sowe have to do a lot in a short period of time.”

Best: “That start kind of paved the way for the rest of the game; we couldn’t really getout of that trap. We tried at the midpoint and had a small comeback, but we just couldn’tget over the hump.”
What do you have to do to prepare for Oklahoma?
Best: “We have to just forget it. We have to learn from what happened, but we also haveto focus and get back to playing good basketball. Our defense has been well this year,but tonight was a poor effort so we have to focus on that as well.”
