ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico was on the road today as they participated in the Denver Relays hosted by Denver University in Denver, Colorado.
They placed third with a total of 74 points, behind Denver University, who took first with a score of 178, and the University of Wyoming, second with 140 points. Air Force was fourth with a score of 38.
The Lobo squad had two second place finishes, the first coming in the 1500-yard freestyle relay with a time of 15:42.38, and the second coming in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:01.97.
The 1500-yard free relay team consisted of freshmen newcomers Heidi Zeiger and Monica Dudley, and Senior Jennifer Burgess. Sophomore Lindsey Morris, Juniors Tesse Maciejko and Nicole Peirce, and Senior Nanette Wittenberg composed the 400-yard medley relay team.
The Lobos had a strong showing the entire day placing in nine of the ten events taking place at the Relay Meet.

New Mexico will welcome San Diego State, Colorado State, and Air Force this Saturday, Oct 23 at Seidler Natatorium in the final home meet of the season. Oct. 23 will also be senior day for the Lobos, Nanette Wittenberg, Sally Bellinger, and Jennifer Burgess will be honored.
