A Wisconsin native, Acosta trained in Winter Park, Colorado, furthering his training after competing for Team Duluth in the Midwest. A member of the 2009-2010 team he competed when the Lobos took third at the NCAA Division I Ski Championship teams. Known to be an asset to the team do not miss out on the chance to cheer Chris Acosta on in the upcoming season.

1.How have you enjoyed your time at UNM and being part of the ski team?

I love sunny training at red river, corporate cup, lifting, climbing mountains, Lobo Pride supporting our other Lobo sport teams! The ski team has a unique bond. We’re a team of Europeans… well… except Gary Kate and I but were psyched to be Lobos and we’re a family. Us Americans learn to like the techno.

2. What hobbies do you enjoy?

Well the $400 shuffleboard my five awesome roommates and I bought is pretty sweet.

3. If you could live anywhere, where and why?

I would live in mountains for sure. Where there’s snow to be skied and peaks to be summited, I am a satisfied person.

4. Who is your biggest fan?Spencer James Nelson … I’m sure he digs me and my whole team. I think Chriss Johan Salbu likes me.

5. Any memories that stick out relating to the ski team?

Peter Brenna squatting 615 pounds… . Yup, he’s a beast. 🙂

6. Do you have any superstitions?

I hate ghosts. They are pretty scary.

7. Do you have any secret talents?

Sailing, Painting Rocks.

8.Red or Green Chile?

Both red and green chile, Christmas.
