TEAM –
– New Mexico blocked its second field of the season vs. UTEP…Senior DT Peter Gardner blocked a 52-yard Miner attempt that resulted in a Lobo TD…the previous blocked FG by UNM was by Jaymar Latchison at Oregon to open the 2010 season…the Lobos now have four return touchdowns on the season, all of a different variety, as they have a blocked field goal return, a defensive fumble return, an offensive fumble return, and a kickoff return.

– Two of New Mexico’s three touchdowns against UTEP were scored by freshmen.

– 12 Lobos have started their first collegiate games this season…true freshman S Ravonne Carter made his first career start Saturday against UTEP…UNM has started two true freshmen this season in Carter and Tarean Austin…six true freshmen have played in 2010.

– UNM is now 41-42-3 all-time during Homecoming games.

– The Lobos lead the all-time series with UTEP, 42-31-3 but the Miners have won the last three meetings.

Myles Daughtry’s 100-yard kickoff return was the third in school history…it was also the first touchdown in Daughtry’s career.

– Recorded his first career rushing touchdown against UTEP…scored on a 4-yard boot play

Senior DT Peter Gardner
– Had his first career blocked field goal … his block resulted in a 45-yard field goal return for a Lobo touchdown.

Junior LB Carmen Messina
– Had a season-high 10 tackles vs. UTEP…it was the 11th time in his career he has registered double figures.

Redshirt Freshman LB Dallas Bollema
– Forced and recovered his first career fumble vs. UTEP.

True Freshman S Ravonne Carter
– Made his first career start vs. UTEP…finished with a career-high five tackles…he has played in every game this year as a true freshman.

Sophomore RB Kasey Carrier
– Had a season-high 146 all-purpose yards…rushed for a season-high 58 and had five catches for 36 yards.

Redshirt Freshman WR Myles Daughtry
– Had his first career TD Saturday and it came on a 100-yard kickoff return.
