ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The UNM Lobo Club will host Howl of a Good Time VIII on Friday, August 27 at Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town to raise money for UNM athletic scholarships. This year’s Howl of a Good Time VIII, VIVA LAS VEGAS, is a Vegas-themed night of food, fun and entertainment to support student-athletes who wear the Cherry and Silver. The event will start at 6:00 p.m. and will include a silent auction, live auction, dinner and dancing.
The evening begins with a no-limit silent auction with more than 150 opportunities for bidders to walk away with great items ranging from jewelry to great entertainment experiences.
The action moves to the banquet room at 8 p.m. for a succulent four-course dinner that will rival any Vegas buffet and a live auction. The live auction will feature an opportunity to bid to win the use of a suite in the newly renovated Pit for the UNM vs. NMSU men’s basketball game in 2010-11 as well as beautiful Gertrude Zachary jewelry, vacations, and much more. There will also be a raffle ticket drawing for cash prizes to close out the winning.
At the end of the evening, stick around for the after party and dance to the music of The Pink Flamingos.
Tickets are $100 and tables are available starting at $1,000. If you want to get closer to the action, premium table seating is available for $1,250. Call 925-5014, go to www.unmloboclub.org, or find us on Facebook for more information.
Howl of a Good Time is one of the major fundraisers each year that assists the Lobo Club in funding athletic scholarships. With over 450 student athletes, the cost to fully fund athletic scholarships for 2010-11 is $3.5 million. Approximately 325 student-athletes currently receive scholarship support. UNM student athletes have an overall GPA average of 3.15 (Spring 2010).
