ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Always wanted to see your name in lights? How about set in stone? University of New Mexico sports fans have the opportunity to leave their mark on the newly-renovated Pit. The Pave The Pit campaign is one of the premier opportunities for all Lobo fans to become a part of The Pit. Fans can purchase a paver that will be cemented near the main entrance of the arena on the northeast corner. A paver is a perfect gift for a family member, friend, company or to honor any individual.
Pave The Pit order forms are available at the Lobo Athletics offices located in the Colleen J. Maloof Building on UNM’s South Campus or online at GoLobos.com. Fans are encouraged to submit orders and payments by September 1, 2010 to ensure placement in the first paver installation. The funds from paver sales will directly benefit the renovation costs of The Pit.
Renovation of The Pit is nearing completion in preparation for the 2010-11 season. The focus of the design is to maintain and improve the fan experience without changing the intimate nature of The Pit. One of the premier venues in college basketball, the renovation will keep The Pit mystique alive by maintaining great site lines and the current bowl seating mix while embracing new technology to enhance the total game experience.
