The University of New Mexico track and field team qualified three more athletes to the NCAA Finals in Eugene, Ore. Lee Emanuel, Deanna Young and Jacob Kirwa all advanced in their respective events. With the three qualifiers from day three the Lobos will be sending a total of six athletes to compete at Hayward Field.

Emanuel ran a time of 3:38.81 in the 1500-meters to qualify for NCAA semifinals in Eugene, Ore. Emanuel was one of the top five finishers in his heat and ran the third best time of the field. The senior was one of seven qualifiers to break the Myers Stadium record of 3:43.32 set in 2001.

Young jumped a mark of 42-09.75 (13.05m) in the triple jump to earn a spot in the NCAA Finals in Eugene. The top 12 automatically advance to the finals.

Kirwa advanced to the finals in the 5,000-meters with a time of 14:02.01. The senior finished top five in his heat and had the second best time of the field.
