It’s that time again, time for the MWC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The University of New Mexico will play host to the Track and Field Championships, May 12 through the 15, for only the second time in MWC history. Events will be held at the Great Friends of UNM Track Stadium. Ticket prices will be $5 for adults and $3 for children.

Time of Events
Wednesday and Thursday are the combined events beginning at noon and running until they finish.
Friday’s events will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude after the 10,000 meters which begins at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude after the 4x400m relay, which is scheduled to start at 3:35 p.m.

Lobo Watch
Lee Emanuel will be running at home for the first time this season. The senior will run the 1500m and will be looking to better his PR of 3:37.25.
Chris Barnicle will also be present running in the 5,000m.
Sandy Fortner, Richard York and Brian Wilson are the only Lobos scheduled to compete in the combined events. Fortner is the current UNM record holder in the heptathlon with a score of 5,657, which she captured at the Texas Relays back in early April. Freshman Richard York earned a score of 6,224 in his first ever decathlon also at the Texas Relays. Wilson recorded his PR in the event at the Texas Relays with a score of 6,347.
Also competing on the women’s side is star triple-jumper Deanna Young, who will be looking to add a couple inches on to her PR and UNM record in the event. She currently has a PR of 43-10.75.
Junior Ruth Senior is competing in the 1500m and the 3,000m steeplechase. Senior is currently the UNM record holder in the 3000SC with a time of 10:09.14.
