AUSTIN, Texas—Day two of the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships brought a 12th-place finish for New Mexico sophomore Aubrey Bush in competition on the 3-meter board, where she scored 545.75 points. In the preliminary round, Bush finished sixth, qualifying for finals with a mark of 278.00. The competition is taking place for the second-straight year at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center, on the campus of the University of Texas.
Three other Lobo divers also competed in the preliminary round. Senior Sasha Evangulova was one place away from qualifying for the final round when she tallied 256.85 points to finish 19th. Fellow senior Alexandra Lusk finished in 39th place with 195.65 points. Two spots behind was Ashlee Erickson in 41st (163.35).
Six women from Zone E will receive bids to the NCAA Championships, which are being held in West Lafayette, Ind., March 18-20. NCAA Championship qualifiers from Zone E will be announced at the conclusion of Saturday’s events.
