Sasha Evangulova was the only New Mexico diver to advance to the final round of 1-meter dive. The competition, which serves as a qualifying competition for the NCAA Championships, is taking place for the second-straight year at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center, on the campus of the University of Texas.

Evangulova finished the day with a finals score of 270.90 to finish 17th on the 1-meter board. During the preliminary round Aubrey Bush placed 19th with a mark of 240.55. Other Lobos in the competition were Ashlee Erickson (30th, 225.45) and Alexandra Lusk (32nd, 222.55).

Zone E covers 11 states in the West Region–Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. This year’s meet will feature more than 70 divers from 19 schools in the region.

Six women from Zone E will receive bids to the NCAA Championships, which are being held in West Lafayette, Ind., March 18-20. NCAA Championship qualifiers from Zone E will be announced at the conclusion of Saturday’s events.
