UPDATE – Former University of New Mexico center Erik Cook will play in Saturday’s Texas vs. The Nation all-star game in El Paso, Texas and has also received an invite to the NFL Combine (Feb. 24-March 2) in Indianapolis. The fourth annual Texas vs. The Nation game will kickoff at 12 p.m. and be televised live on CBS College Sports.

A first team all-Mountain West Conference selection last fall, the versatile Cook played every position on the offensive line during his Lobo career. He spent his final two seasons at center, but as a sophomore saw time at center, tackle, and guard, playing four of the five offensive line spots in a single game in 2007 vs. Sacramento State.

The Albuquerque Cibola product was voted the Lobos’ team MVP and offensive MVP at the end of the season awards banquet. His older brother Ryan was a three-time first team all-MWC center for UNM and a second round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2006.
