Aubrey Bush led the University of New Mexico’s swimming and diving team with first-place finishes on 1-meter and 3-meter boards in a 147-89 loss to UNLV today. Marissa Campbell also picked up two first-place times for the Lobos in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle.

The diving portion of the competition was held in Buchanan Natatorium where Bush scored 274.20 points on the 3-meter to finish first. She was followed by Sasha Evangulova in second with a mark on 270.45. Alexandra Lusk finished fourth with 250.73 points. On the 1-meter Bush finished with a mark of 261.00. Evangulova scored 237.83 points to finish third, followed by Lusk in fifth a score of 225.75.

Due to renovations at the UNLV facilities swimmers competed at the City of Henderson Multigenerational Center. Marissa Campbell captured first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.49. In the 100-yard freestyle Campbell touched the wall in 53.63 to secure a top finish.

Jennifer Patterson picked up a second place finish for the Lobos in the 200-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 2:11.64. Also finishing second was Maria Dudley in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:33.67. She was followed by Tonya Gramstad in fourth (10:57.28).

In the 200-yard medley relay Jocelyn Colella, Nicole Peirce, Ashley Grisdale and Nanette Wittenberg finished third with a time of 1:52.54. Colella also picked up a third-place time (4:41.51) in the 400-yard individual medley, followed by Bridget O’Hara in fourth (4:42.13).

New Mexico is 3-8 on the season, 1-5 in Mountain West Conference action.

The Lobos return to action Jan. 16 at the Maverick Meet in Grand Junction, Colo. where they will take on Mesa State, Northern Colorado, Colorado School of Mines and Adams State College at 10 a.m.
