Head Coach Steve Alford on Alex Kirk
“We have targeted Alex since we got to UNM. He was probably the first player we offered after we saw him playing a game at Highland (High School) as a sophomore. We have developed a good relationship with the entire Kirk family. Size, or lack thereof, has been an issue for us and adding Alex fills this void. He is our center for the future. Alex has good hands and he shoots well. He is also a good passing big man, which is important in our offense. Alex is an inside-outside type of center who can contribute immediately.”
