Kansas City, Mo.– The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team had a big day at the Jayhawk Invitational today walking away with 12 wins. This is the first tournament of fall play where the Lobos have had double digit wins.

Anya Villanueva-Forte added two wins to her record today. Her first came against Jenny Herring from Abilene Christian, 6-2, 6-2. The Mexico City product won in a close match 7-6, 6-4 to University of Missouri – Kansas City’s Laura Bouet.

Freshman Kristin Eggleston got her first win of the weekend dominating Eva Davai, 6-2, 6-4. Using the momentum of her first win Eggleston defeated Jenna Langhorst from Iowa State, 7-5, 6-0.

Fellow freshman Laura Richardson defeated Allie Dzuba from Kansas, 7-5, 6-3.

Michaela Oldani notched her second win of the weekend crushing Iowa State’s Ellie Nixon, 6-2, 6-1.

Sophomore Manumea Durie earned two wins today first defeating Jillian Yakominich from UMKC, 6-1, 6-1. Her second win came against Madison Hudson from Abilene Christian, 6-1, 6-1.

Eliane Bourdages earned her first and second win of the season, one against Andrea Georgescu from Arkansas State, 6-2, 6-3. The Quebec, Canada product earned her second win against Kate Goff from Kansas, 6-4, 6-1.

Amy Shipperd dominated in her victory over Chelsea Loprinzi from Iowa State, 6-0, 6-1.

The Lobos return to action tomorrow at 9 a.m.
