ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico Athletics Department is pleased to announce a five-year agreement with the UNM Bookstores to be the official store of the Lobos. This new agreements ensures that the University will be working closely with the Lobo Athletic Department to make merchandise and apparel available to all Lobo fans.
The UNM Bookstores will operate sales at all Lobo Football and Basketball games, in addition to other Lobo sports events. This new agreement will also include fulfillment of the GoLobos.com on-line store beginning on Thursday, Sept. 3.
“We believe that working with the UNM Bookstores is a natural fit for Athletics,” said Vice President for Athletics Paul Krebs. “We are very happy to start this new partnership with UNM Bookstores and look forward to the growth.”
The UNM Bookstores will also run the daily operations of The Pit Store beginning in 2010 when the renovation at The Pit is complete. In addition to having a presence on game days at athletic events, the UNM Bookstores has locations on main and north campus where Lobo merchandise and apparel is available for purchase.
“We are really looking forward to this new venture with Athletics. It is a win-win partnership for the University,” said Steve Beffort, Vice President for Institutional Support Services, about the new Athletics/Bookstore partnership.
The UNM Bookstores will have Game Day Fridays again this year. Every Friday before home and away games throughout the football season, Lobo fans can stop by the UNM Bookstores and get 25% off all LoboWear and selected spirit Item.
