BEGGIN BLOG: Going Back Home to MinnesotaBEGGIN BLOG: Going Back Home to Minnesota

July 30, 2009

This summer in Albuquerque has been filled with hard work and fun. Between working out, taking class, working camps and doing some rehab, I have stayed very busy. I have also gone to a couple Isotopes games, gone to some BBQ’s and got a little sun. Although it has been a good summer, my parents miss me too much and bought a plane ticket for me to come home!

This Saturday, I am heading back to Minnesota for a couple of weeks until school starts on August 24. No, I am not going to have to pack my winter jacket or a hat or gloves, and I probably won’t even see snow. In fact, the lakes may be warm enough to swim in and the weather good enough to wear shorts. But then again, it could be 60 degrees and Minnesotans think it’s shorts weather! That’s what makes Minnesotans so special though, we are tough!

I don’t have a lot planned when I’m home, mostly just spending time with my family and friends. My family and I are huge Twins fans, we either watch their game every night or we go down to the Metrodome to see them play. They are a fun team to watch, they play hard and they play the game the right way. They are a smaller market team, they don’t get much attention nationally, but year after year they are contending for the division title. The Twins have some of the best fans in all of Major League Baseball as well. If anyone has ever been in the Metrodome, it gets extremely loud.

In a lot of ways, the Twins remind me of New Mexico women’s basketball. We aren’t a big market team, but at the end of the season we are going to be in contention for a conference championship. We have the best fans in the nation and The Pit gets loud, really loud.

Other then watching the Twins, I plan on working out and continuing to get better. I can’t wait for the season to start. I think we have a good team that is going to compete very hard and be fun to watch.

Attached with this blog is a photo gallery of random photos throughout the year. Our team has a lot of fun together and these photos prove that!
