ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — University of New Mexico men’s head basketball coach Steve Alford was the featured guest at Special Olympics New Mexico’s 11th annual Golf Classic and Sports Auction presented by The Payroll Company. The event was held July 19-20 at Four Hills Country Club.
UNM Vice President for Athletics Paul Krebs, head football coach Mike Locksley, head track coach Joe Franklin and several Lobo athletics staff members were also on hand at Sunday’s dinner and auction.
In 2008, SONM’s Golf Classic and Sports Auction raised a record-breaking $100,000.
On Sunday, July 19 the evening featured a dinner with a live and silent auction. Alford was the featured speaker. The golf tournament was played on Monday at Four Hills.
