2009 Preseason WNIT Bracket in PDF Format 
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico women’s basketball team has been one of 16 teams selected to participate in the 2009 Preseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament. The three-game guaranteed tournament kickoffs on Nov. 13 with the championship game held on Sunday, Nov. 22. The Lobos will open the event at home against Northern Colorado at 7 p.m. MT on Friday, Nov. 13.
New Mexico is the only Mountain West Conference school participating in the event. The second round is slated for Nov. 15-16 with third round games set for Nov. 18-19. The winner of the UNM and Northern Colorado game will face the winner of the Florida Gulf Coast-UTEP game.
The Lobos are coming off a 25-11 season and return three starters. New Mexico has four seniors returning in Amy Beggin, Eileen Weissmann, Valerie Kast and Georonika Jackson. UNM advanced to the elite eight of the post-season WNIT last year.
