LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Lobo volleyball team spent last weekend at the UNLV Spring Tournament. New Mexico finished 5-0 to win the tournament, the final collegiate tournament of the spring practice season.

“It was a great way to finish up the Spring Season and really should help motivate our players to work hard over the summer to get ready for fall,” said Lobo head coach Jeff Nelson. “After losing three amazing seniors, it is exciting to see our younger players step up and assume greater roles on the team.”

Over the course of the Spring, every member of the Lobo volleyball team saw extensive playing time and showed the improved depth of the Lobo bench.

“This weekend everyone played well, but Allison Buck and Ashley Rhoades really stepped up,” said Nelson. “Taylor Hadfield had a great weekend offensively, as well. Jade (Michaelsen) looked great again this weekend along with Lisa Meeter, who played really well all around.”

In the tournament, New Mexico beat Cal State San Bernardino (2-0), Montana (2-0), Missouri State (2-0), UNLV (2-1) and Arizona (2-1).

The Lobos wrap up their Spring season with the 3rd Annual Grass Bash on Sunday, April 26 at Johnson Fields.
