Albuquerque, N.M.- The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team will wrap up Mountain West Conference play with a three-game home stand at the Lobo Tennis Center. New Mexico (6-13, 1-4 MWC) will play Air Force on Thursday at 4 p.m., Wyoming on Friday at 1 p.m., and hosts Colorado State on Saturday at 11 a.m. for Senior Day. The Lobos are a combined 41-0 all-time against their three opponents this weekend.

Scouting the Cowboys…

Wyoming (7-12, 1-4) is coming off a 7-0 loss to UNLV on April 4 in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Cowgirls’ lone conference win came against Air Force on March 7 in Laramie. The Cowboys have had conference losses to UNLV (7-0), SDSU (6-1), Utah (7-0) and BYU (7-0).

New Mexico has an 11-0 all-time record versus Wyoming. The last time these two teams met in Fort Worth, Texas on March 29, 2008 when the Lobos defeated the Cowgirls, 6-1.

Wyoming is coached by Kati Gyulai who has compiled a 29-17 record during her two years in Laramie. The Cowgirls finished 11-13 in the 2007-08 season and eighth in the conference.

Scouting the Falcons…

Air Force (10-13, 0-5) is coming off a 7-0 win to over Colorado State-Pueblo on April 5 at the Academy. Earlier that day the Falcons lost 4-1 to San Diego State.

New Mexico holds a 12-0 record against Air Force. The Lobos downed the Falcons 7-0 on March 28 last year in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Falcons are coached by Kim Gidley who has compiled a 123-147 overall record during her 11-year tenure. Air Force finished 6-21 last season and ninth in conference.

Who are the Rams?

Colorado State (5-10, 0-4) heads to Albuquerque after a 7-0 loss to UNLV and a 6-1 loss to SDSU on April 4.

New Mexico holds an 18-0 all-time record against the Rams. Last year the Lobos took on Colorado State on March 30 in Fort Worth, Texas, winning their third conference match by dominating the Rams, 6-1.

Colorado State is coached by Jon Messick, who has been there for 24 years.

Last Time For The Lobos…

The Lobos went 1-2 this past weekend in Fort Worth, Texas. The Lobos lost a close match to No. 57 BYU, 4-3. Abou-Zekry defeated No. 96 McCall Jones in a close match, 6-4, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5). White notched another win by defeating Kristina Doerr, 6-7, 7-6, 1-0 (10-8). Emma Hayman also came away with a win over Chie Hayasaka, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

The Lobos earned their best win of the season as they upset No. 49 Utah, 4-3. Abou-Zekry and White both came away with wins. Senior Maria Sotirchos stepped in at No. 6 doubles and defeated Lexi Provancha, 6-3, 7-5. Hayman clinched the victory for the Lobos. After splitting sets, 6-4, 6-7 Hayman dominated the third set winning 6-1.

New Mexico ended the weekend with a 7-0 loss to TCU.
