The University of New Mexico men’s soccer team picked up two wins this past Saturday at Robertson Field. With less than favorable weather conditions the Lobos downed Fort Lewis College, 2-1 and blanked Colorado State – Pueblo 1-0.

Senior P.J. Wilson scored the game winner for New Mexico against Fort Lewis when he picked up a free kick from junior goalkeeper Justin Fite. Wilson dribbled past two defenders and easily defeated the Fort Lewis goalie for the 1-0 advantage. After senior Justin Davis was taken down from behind in the penalty box, senior Simon Ejdemyr converted on a penalty to put the Lobos on top 2-1.

In the afternoon match, New Mexico blanked CSU-Pueblo, 1-0. Davis scored from 25 yards out with a beautiful left-footed one timer that sailed past the goalie for the win.

The Lobos will head to sunny Calif. to take on 2008 NCAA Tournament qualifiers UC-Santa Barbara on Friday, April 10 7:00 p.m. PT and Cal Poly on Sunday, April 12 at 12:00 p.m. PT.
