San Diego, Calif.- The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team fell to No. 44 Mississippi, 6-1 Wednesday in the first round of the Barnes Collegiate Women’s Invitational in San Diego, Calif. The Lobos are now 3-9 on the season.
Mackenzie White comes away with her fourth straight win over No.70 Karen Nijssen, 0-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4). White improves to 7-5 on the season.
Emma Hayman almost came away with a win today. After losing the first set to Laura Van de Stroet, 6-4 Hayman put up a fight in the second winning 7-5. Unfortunately she lost in a 10-6 tiebreaker.
New Mexico will be back in action tomorrow to take on the winner of the San Diego, UT-Arlington match at 1:30 (Mountain Standard).
