OKLAHOMA CITY — The University of New Mexico is in eighth place with 57 points after day one of competition at the Mountain West Conference championships. Aubrey Bush led the Lobos with a ninth place finish on the 3-meter dive with a score of 269.15.

Sasha Evangulova followed in 10th-place with a mark of 262.20 and Ashlee Erickson rounded out the event placing 16th (222.90).

Bridget O’Hara, Maria Dudley, Jennifer Burgess and Jennifer Patterson placed eighth in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:40.90.

In the 200-yard medley relay Jocelyn Colella, Tesse Maciejko, Marissa Campbell and Patterson finished ninth, touching the wall in 1:46.98.

Day two events begin with the women’s one-meter springboard and men’s and women’s 500-yard freestyle preliminaries at 10 a.m. CT. The finals competition starts at 6 p.m. CT. The 2009 MWC Swimming and Diving Championships conclude Saturday, February 28.
