Malibu, Calif.- Sophomore Ashley Bonner got her first singles win of the season today against Pepperdine’s Tania Rice at the Ralph-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu, Calif. Unfortunately the win wasn’t enough. The Lobos fell to Pepperdine (3-4), 6-1. The Lobos are now 2-5 on the season.
Bonner won the first set 7-6, lost the second set 3-6 and dominated Rice in the tiebreaker winning 10-5.
Senior Mackenzie White almost notched a win with a close match to Alex Liles. White won the first set 6-3 and lost the second set 2-6. In a close tiebreaker White fell to Liles 11-9.
The Lobos will take a week off before returning to action at home against Boise State on Feb. 27. Play will begin at 5 p.m.
